Burnout CRASH! Review (XBLA)

The next few months for gamers are going to prove very worthwhile and very challenging up into next year and many titles coming out are all beginning to sound like they are following a very similar formula on touting “realism”. While I do frequently enjoy playing games that make me feel like I’m behind the wheel of an exotic supercar, or I’m deep behind enemy lines fighting my way to freedom, every once in a while I like to take a break from the norm and go see what’s new in the XBLA marketplace to break the stride of ever-challenging game play and incredible character development.  I found just what I needed, Burnout: CRASH! from Criterion Games, a franchise known for having a good time and smashing everything in your way in the sake of points and money. With its arcade game style being taken even further than before, will this one stay at the top of the ‘Crashwall’ or fall to pieces before it gets out off the line? (more…)

Driver: San Francisco – Stop and Smell the Rubber

When it comes to games and blood pumping Hollywood-esque scenes of cars sliding through dirty alleyways and dodging narrowly avoided accidents, one series immediately pops into my mind; Driver.  And last June those vivid images came rushing back with the announcement of Driver:  San Francisco for console and PC platforms this September.
